What is FAMOUS
FAMOUS, an acronym for Familiarization Trip on Sustainable Tourism, is an annual program initiated by the Travel and Tourism Business Study Program, Lombok Tourism Polytechnic. This program serves as a tangible manifestation of the university’s support for sustainable tourism development, by making tourism villages the center of activity and local communities the primary beneficiaries.
History
Since its inception in 2021, FAMOUS has focused on strengthening tourism villages in Lombok. Each year, this activity is held in a different destination to highlight local potential, expand promotion, and create positive impacts in the form of community capacity building, economic empowerment, and environmental and cultural preservation.
Objectives
The main objectives of FAMOUS are to:
- Improve the capacity of tourism village communities to manage tourism potential sustainably.
- Support local economic growth through the promotion of community products and businesses.
- Make a real contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Edukarsa
Meet the Team – FAMOUS 2025
- FAMOUS 2025 is organized by the Tourism Travel Business (UPW) Study Program, Class 5C, Batch 2023, Politeknik Pariwisata Lombok.
- As future tourism professionals, we are committed to creating an event that not only offers a meaningful travel experience but also generates real impact for the community and the environment.
- The organizing committee is divided into several divisions, each with specific roles and responsibilities. Collaboration among these divisions is the key to bringing FAMOUS 2025 to life in Genggelang Village, North Lombok.
